A brand-new production of THE WEDDING BANQUET, based on the 1993 Oscar- nominated film by Ang Lee, is originally conceived and developed by Welly Yang, book and lyrics by Tony ®- winner Brian Yorkey and music by Woody Pak. Many years later, Welly Yang, along with Hollywood playwright Matt Eddy, has reworked the book and lyrics, while preserving Brian Yorkey's original lyrics. Woody Pak and Tony ® & Grammy ® - nominee AnnMarie Milazzo have rearranged the songs for this new reversion.  Directed by Broadway director Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Eamon Foley.

THE WEDDING BANQUET is one of the few successful indie films, and it is also one of the most reputable works from international director Ang Lee. It not only has won the Berlin International Film Festival’s Golden Bear Award, but also nominated for The Academy Award, and the Golden Globe’s best foreign film. This musical adaptation that created by the masters from Broadway is no doubt the best interpretation of the fusion in western-oriental culture, which definitely will win the hearts of cross-cultured audiences in both Asia and America.
